My final word

Seems like there has been an overall concensus about the nature and form of these proposed regulations.  To those at DPOR who drafted these regulations:  it is good that these comments are being made prior to any final form of these regulations being adopted by the GA.  Please read them, listen to them, and take them to heart.  These comments are from people who know what they are talking about and have been there.  While I may not agree on every comment that was made, please note that the vast majority of these comments are very similar.

Additionally, keep in mind that this change in the Code of Virginia was NOT a VDH proposal.  That's all that needs to be said.

To all of us who have commented:  I congratulate you on the insight you have shown in your review of these regulations.  I am still on little on the young side, and haven't been with VDH for as long as some, but I am proud of a lot of the comments that were made, especially those looking out for non-AOSE's who become a little by the wayside on July 1.

Bear in mind that whatever happens with these regulations, not all of us are going to be satisfied, but I do believe that we have shown DPOR that we are not happy with the current proposal.  You can't satisfy everyone all of the time, but our industry does not contain vast numbers.  When you look at the whole of the groups that are being affected (regulators, private evaluators, installers, operators), our numbers grow considerably, but we are not a dominant entity in the workforce of Virginia.  That being said, I also believe that there have been enough of us to influence what DPOR does with these regulations.

Finally, DPOR, please listen to us.  You have a chance to very positively influence the lives of many people in Virginia.  You can either bolster our businesses and influence, or you can cut us off at the knees.  Your current proposal does the latter.  Not only can you influence those you will be regulating, but the public whom we serve.  This is not just for us.
