I have been involved in thoroughbred horse racing for approximately twenty years. I have been active in racing and breeding and while living in Virginia have raced in all Mid Atlantic tracks and bred primarily in Kentucky and Maryland. I feel it is a great opportunity for Virginia to bring racing back at Colonial Downs and to promote and assist racing with historical machines. Virtually every successful racetrack has used slots and casinos to assist race purses and breeding incentives. Virginia is well behind in trying to attract gambling dollars from adjoining states and should take an aggressive approach in supporting racing and breeding. The involvement in the Thoroughbred incentive program is a good indication of the interest in Virginia racing. I look forward to racing coming back to Virginia.
