I am writing to voice my opposition to the regulation allowing dentists without specialty post-doctoral training to advertise as a specialist.  I believe that this change will result in much confusion for the layperson and ultimately create a public safety crisis.  To essentially allow anyone to state that they are a specialist without benefit of proper training is unimaginable and I cannot think why the Board would even consider such a thing when it's primary job is to establish regulations to ensure the safe practice of Dentistry.  This regulation must not pass and I strongly object to it and appreciate the opportunity to go on record as being opposed.
