Thank you for the opportunity to comment on the updates to the Statewide Fire Prevention Code.  My name is Battalion Chief Thomas L Goode and I am the Fire Marshal for the City of Lynchburg, Va. Fire Department.  As an advocate for the safety of all Virginians, I would like to add my name to the comments made by the Virginia Fire Chiefs Association.  As outlined by others, there are too many code sections that need closer evaluation by the fire service stakeholders.  Numerous sections severely diminish the regulations that are in place to protect all citizens of Virginian.  We need a complete review and consensus document to be released and adopted.
