I oppose the CACREP requirement for Virginia licensure.  It is a false statement to say that CACREP graduation makes one a better licensed counselor than so many other academic programs.  Additionally, this requirement would make it impossible for qualified counselors who might seek Virginia residency to practice in Virginia, thus harming the capacity to provide mental health services to many in the state.I
