I'm a 56 year old caucasian female, and has been seeing my acupuncture for the last 10 years for my chronic low back pain, usually 1 session lasts me about 1 month of pain relief. Last month, my insurance told me I needed to get in for my annual PT appointment, afterwards, he said "looks like you have some back issues today, can I give you a new therapy for that, called dry needling?", I hesitated for a moment, but I did let him needle for still, after the dry needling session, my back locked up so bad, and I was in so much pain I went directly to the urgent care next door. I don't recommend dry needling at all, it is painful and should not be practiced at all. I'm sticking with acupuncture for the rest of my life.
