I have received dry needling treatment from physical therapists in VA and it was very helpful for treating my specific problems. I received the treatment twice-- for a calf strain and a hip problem, and both times the treatment was very effective in resolving my problems and ending my need for additional physical therapy for that condition. I am a runner and was able to return to running immendiately after both treatments. I always trust my certified physical therapists to give this treatment-- they are well informed of the treatment and more familiar with day to day physical ailments from the many patients they see--- always for the same types of injuries. I don't see any reason why PTs should not be allowed to perform dry needling.
