While I can understand the concerns voiced in the comments above, patients do, indeed, have a right to know who is treating them. I agree that some units may address this issue on an indiviudal basis. Changing regulations is going to far. I can't imagine physicians ever having this conversation. I want my name on my badge; I want to identify myself. The most important thing we can do to protect ourselves is to treat every patient with dignity and respect.
