Medical standards

Obviously, abortion is a very controversial topic in our land and has been for decades.  That aside, the need for maintaining the highest medical standards should be the goal of everyone on both sides of this issue.  Even in carrying out capital punishment, where the goal is to have the "patient" die, strict medical procedures are still carefully followed.  In the context of abortion, even though one "patient" will still die--and that's the controversy--the second one should still be entitled to as much protection as any condemned prisoner.
