I oppose Gov. McAuliffe’s attempt to significantly water down health/safety standards

I strongly oppose giving abortion centers a free pass when it comes to basic health and safety standards. This gubernatorial administration should keep its word about protecting all Virginia families by ensuring that abortion centers meet the highest standards of safety. A Fairfax abortion center had its abortion practice shut down and its license suspended after a blistering 52-page document described incident after incident of gut-wrenching health and safety violations. The Fairfax abortion clinic was unprepared when a woman’s cervix was cut because they had no sutures on site to fix the injury, so the woman had to be rushed to a local emergency room to stop the bleeding. Abortion clinic inspection reports initiated since the regulations took effect in 2012 have already exposed many hundreds of health and safety violations. And in some cases, the evidence shows abortion centers actually getting worse.
