Abortion clinic safety standards

Abortion clinics should meet the same standards as any other clinic that provides any type of health care outpatient surgery. There should be no loosening of standards that the clinics need to meet. It is not serving women well to provide inferior safety and sanitation standards for the facilities that supposedly provide medical services to them: it is exploition. I am old enough to remember all of the arguments for permitting legalized abortion and one of the major ones was to improve the sanitation of the procedures so women would not die in so called "back alley" abortions. But the clinics do not have to meet the same standards as other types of medical clinics and the enforcement of those weaker standards is not rigorous. The idea that those standards need to be weakened even further proves that women's actual health is of no concern to the entire abortion industry and their supporters.  The "back alley" conditions simply prevail in the legalized substandard clinics and women continue to receive inadequate care and suffer the consequences. It has never been about actually improving the health care of women and this attempt to weaken standards for abortion clinics proves that.
