Abortion is an invasive surgical procedure and should an unforseen complication arise (there is ample documentation of such complications, even leading to death) the current safety regulations are necessary to save lives. In fact most complications have arisen because of the lack of health and safety regulations. I cannot understand why clinics performing abortions should be allowed to operate without the same standards of every other ambulatory health care facility in the state. It's time to see that Virginia women seeking abortions can know their health and safety are of the utmost concern. Please keep the current regulations in place.
