As a parent of a former amateur boxer who is now Professional, I oppose this current bill. It unnecessarily groups Amateur Boxing with Professional Boxing and Professional MMA. USA boxing is one of the strictest-regulated amateur sports in the country and there is absolutely no need to include Amateur Boxing with this legislature. You have completely killed Amateur Boxing in VA and we currently look like the idiots of USA Boxing because we can not host an event. Please repeal and leave Amateur Boxing in VA 100% under the safe guildance of USA Boxing like it was before this unnecessary legislature was written and passed.

As for limiting the ability of a Santioning Body to operate in VA you have single handily reduced the number of Santioning Body's to one. GCA now has a monopoly and will not be able to keep up with the demands for shows across the start thereby reducing the opportunities for fighters to fight and move forward with their careers.  There will be no way for a New Santioning Body to be formed under these restrictions which if GCA runs into trouble someday will eliminate MMA all together.  This is obviously a personal plan to have a Monopoly created for GCA and I have heard from several folks involved that money has chnaged hands to get this done. 

When things aren't broke you shouldn't try to fix them.  USA Boxing was handling Amateur Boxing just fine and the rules previously adopted for the DPOR of Virginia were handling Professional Boxing and MMA just fine.  The more Sanctioning Body's the better.  Its more opportunities to fight.  The DPOR had guidelines for approving Promoters and Sanctioning Body's in place and the "NEW" guidelines are too strict and prevents an individual like myself from forming a new Sanctioning Body in VA if I choose to do so.  Bad Business!!!!!!!
