In the interests of full disclosure: I am a happy acupuncture patient and my wife is an acupuncturist.
That said, 99% sure I would take the same position even if I were simply an informed citizen. Strikes me that if the State requires one group to spend years to become qualified, and then makes an exception for another group to do some of the same work after 54 hours of training, something isn't right. The State can't have two separate standards that are so different for what amounts to much the same thing. Love PTs, but acupuncture is not the same as physical therapy. If PTs want to perform acupuncture, let them meet the same standards as acupuncturists.
