Acupuncture takes anyone years of training and practice to acquire proficiency. It is unrealistic for physical therapists to learn acupuncture skills with 100 hours of training and to practice acupuncture under the name of dry needling. Legislators and consumers should strictly forbid any attempt to bypass acupuncture laws to practice "dry needling," because that will both hurt health consumers and the profession of acupuncturists.
