During its last meeting, the Board of Health approved the Department of Health to draft amendments to the regulations in six specific areas. These areas include vital aspects of basic health and safety in abortion centers including parental consent and emergency care standards among other important regulations. Virginias women need the protection of these abortion center regulations. It is not superfluous to ask abortion facilities in our state to protect women in their care. Refusing to inform parents of minor children about their daughters surgeries endangers those childrens lives. And failing to ensure that medical facilities allow access of emergency personnel has already cost lives and endangered the health of women in need. I ask you to maintain these regulations and ensure that they are enforced, for the sake of womens safety. Dawn Beutner
