As the issue of abortion is debated and rehashed, we need to consider our current situation. Self-regulation in the abortion industry (and it is definitely an "industry") apparently is not working. Outside regulation is necessary.Im afraid that extremely strong feelings on both sides has taken center stage, and so we have failed to look objectively at the facts. Unfortunately, whenever the facts are presented, we immediately cast our opponents as "pro-life" or "pro-abortion" and the battle is on. But every issue is not about "which side" we are on; the issue of safety is simply a health consideration. Instead of trying to win the argument, we should try to solve the problem: women who chose abortion must be protected from unnecessary risk. Please support stringent regulation of abortion clinics for the sake of all concerned. Monnie Steele
