A change in the definition of what constitutes a 'valid' ID for voting purposes will make it harder for many people to vote. I am thinking of the many seniors who live in institutions and have used their expired driver's licenses for ID purposes in the past. These are just as valid as they were before they expired. Those seniors don't drive anymore so they don't renew their license. Going to DMV just to get a new photo ID is A) difficult to arrange for many and B) it costs money to get a new photo ID. They already have a photo ID. This is a non-sensical change that will keep voters away from the polls but not make anyone feel safer or the outcome of an election more realistic. It's not like we've had thousands and thousands for voter fraud cases. Stop spending time and energy on stuff that does not improve anyone's life!
