I want to comment on the standards for abortion clinics. As an OR nurse I am held to safety standards to protect patients from harm and infection. To allow a facility to do a surgical procedure without the standards of care that every other surgical facility in the US is required to uphold is a crime! We expect accreditation for all surgical facilities and abortion clinics should also be held to those standards of care. I have been working in the OR for over 25 years and consider it excellence in nursing to be an advocate for patients who are worthy of quality care. Everyone deserves to be safe and cared for when having a surgical procedure. Please do not lower quality of care standards for abortion clinics.Deborah L. Kelly MS RN CNOR Deborah Kelly RN
