The Voter Id law is intended to prevent fraud, which unfortunately all too often has been experienced in prior elections.  The only way fraud can be prevented with a higher degree of certainty is to have a current photo id, issued by the state government with current address.  Since fraud prevention is what the law intended, a valid current photo id with current address must be what is required to validate one’s right to vote at a particular polling location.  If there is much discrepancy in years or taken at different times in a person’s life and if the address cannot be validated, how can the election officials really determine that the voting person is who they say they are?  Answer: They cannot.  Thus, under any arrangement less that current voter id with current address, fraud will be expected to occur.  Anyone opposed to that, is wanting the ability to commit fraud with pretense given for other phony reasons.  The identification must be very specific; that is the way one identifies who they specifically are.  This is simply most fundamental! This is so basic that such information is even required at the doctors’ offices and they know who their patients are a lot better than voting officials know all the persons in their precinct.
