My personal belief (not speaking for my Board) is that the purpose of a government-issued ID -- in terms of voting -- is to show that the person pictured in the ID is the same person as the one attempting to vote. Therefore, the date -- particularly the expiration date -- has nothing to do with the purpose. We should be only trying to establish identity. "Valid" should NOT be defined as "unexpired" or "expired within 30 days". It's the picture that counts.
