Parents and teachers should have a collaborative relationship in the classroom. Teachers know the content that they are teaching, and the vague wording of this amendment creates a burden for the teacher. If a parent is concerned about sensitive material in the classroom, he/she can contact the teacher and give the topics found sensitive and ask if any materials might cover that subject. Teachers know their content and can give that list. To put this on the teacher makes the teacher have to decide what is senstive and then contact all parents. This extra work load takes away from planning a unit of instruction and creating a better classroom for the student. Each year, teachers are asked to take on new tasks and there is no extra time to do this. A parent's job is to parent and a teacher's job is to teach. Parents know what may deemed sensitive in their households. Teachers know their content but a definition of sensitive is too vague and will lead to stress and conflict in a relationship that should be cultivated and student focused.
