Just Say No!

The vague wording of the phrase about notification of "sensitive" materials presents a huge issue for me.  After working as a school librarian I have discovered there is no end to the range of topics and phrases that people find offensive.   It would be impossible to label titles that would be problematic since the standard varies from person to person.  On the flip side there are people who want their children exposed to the widest possible diversity in literature and would find any attempt to label, and in effect potentially censor, material to be just as harmful.  Parents have always had the option of reviewing course materials and asking for substitutions so this policy change seems unnecessary and possibly harmful to public schools.
