Restraints on Pregnant women

I urge the Board of Correction to adopt these new regulations as soon as possible.   I also strongly urge the inclusion of a regularized public reporting of incidents when restraints such as shackling are deemed necessary.   Not only does the state's shackling women during labor, before and afterward deny the basic human dignity of mother and child, it is dehumanizing to correctional workers and erodes the moral fiber of our state leaders and citizens. Such actions run counter to our values.
Please adopt these new rules with speed.   Thank you
