I recently viewed a wonderful graduation speech which had at its core a simple but vital message: it is time to end the era of rubbish (there's another word that fits better but might not pass the obsenity filter). We are bombarded by it in the media and in politics. This regulation is full of it. We are told that it is about the safety of women, but the evidence to the contrary is overwhelming, so I won't even bother restating it. What I will say is that if you fail to address the massive hypocracy then you are just part of the problem. We'll succeed eventually, but it would be wonderful if you would join the movement to end rubbish in politics and start making the media, politicians, and political groups across the spectrum accountable. 

Women will be hurt by these regulations, period. Moreover our public discourse will also be injured since politicians will be further encouraged to dish out more rubbish seeing how effective it is. The only way we can reverse the course is to show them that we know better. Do you?
