Maintain Dedicated Service Facilitation

I am writing to express my strongest advocacy for maintaining our current dedicated service facilitation model. I have serious concerns regarding the proposed transition to a "broker system."
Our current service facilitator is an indispensable part of my child’s care team. She knows my son,  deeply and fully understands his unique needs. This personal relationship ensures his care is proactive, highly individualized, and safe. Furthermore, she consistently submits all service authorizations on time, and she is always just a phone call or an email away whenever our family needs support.
Transitioning our family to a broker system risks dismantling this vital lifeline. I am deeply worried about the following consequences:
  • Lapses in Critical Services: A broker system lacks the personal oversight of a dedicated facilitator. I am highly concerned that authorizations will not be submitted in a timely manner, leading to dangerous gaps in my son's daily care.
  • Lack of Familiarity and Continuity: A rotating or impersonal broker system means dealing with individuals who do not know my son, his history, or his specific needs.
For children with complex needs, consistency is not a luxury—it is a necessity. Our current service facilitator provides the stability and reliability my son requires to thrive. I strongly urge you to preserve the dedicated service facilitation model so that vulnerable individuals like my son do not experience a disruption in their essential care.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and your continued commitment to supporting families in our community. I look forward to your response on how we can ensure our current facilitation remains intact.
Sincerely,
Angela Garcia
