Support Brokers remove the ability for an individual to change Service Facilitators.  My daughter with ID has needed to change service facilitators due to lack of support and incompetence.  This is not possible with the Support Broker process.  Also the current service facilitator has been working with us for years.  They are aware of my daughter’s history and individual needs. They are great at suggesting new ways to meet her individual needs.  

VA uses brokers to provide non medical transportation as part of waiver services.  The broker service was horrible.  There was no choice for the individual of which transportation service was used.  No communication was given if transportation fell through.  Different providers were chosen all the time for regularly scheduled transportation to day support.  These different providers were very inconsistent.  They failed to show up without notice, were late by up to a hour, etc.
