I rely on service facilitation to navigate the complex systems of support that enable me to live safely, independently, and with dignity. I currently have the right to choose my own service facilitator, and assigning a broker would strip away that essential choice and control over my services.
My relationship with my facilitator is grounded in trust, mutual understanding, and deep knowledge of my individual needs. It delivers the consistency, guidance, and advocacy that cannot simply be transferred to a newly assigned person. The freedom to select my provider is fundamental to my independence and self-determination.
I urge you to consider the real and lasting impact this change would have on individuals and families who depend on these services. Please protect our right to choose the providers who know us, understand our needs, and help us live our best lives.
