As a member of the public, I support this proposal. Health care delivery and administration continue to evolve, and regulatory frameworks should adapt accordingly while preserving appropriate safeguards for public protection. By expanding access to qualified preceptors, this amendment can strengthen the availability of quality supervision and mentoring opportunities for administrators-in-training without compromising minimum qualification standards.
I respectfully suggest that the title, "Reduction of requirements for preceptors," does not fully capture the intent of the proposal. The amendments appear to modernize and align Virginia's requirements with current practices and national standards while maintaining a commitment to competent preparation, professional development, and the protection of the public. Framing the action as modernization or alignment may more accurately reflect its purpose and anticipated impact.
