Having an independent facilitator gives our family personalized support instead of making us feel like just another case. That relationship and trust were built over time. Our facilitator understands our needs, communicates with us, and helps us work through problems that can sometimes feel overwhelming.
If DMAS eliminates independent Services Facilitators, my family could lose a trusted person who helps us navigate a complicated system. We would be concerned about receiving the same level of personal attention, communication, and advocacy. Families who are already caring for loved ones should not have additional stress trying to figure everything out on their own.
Independent agencies such as Miss Jada Meredith, LLC provide valuable services to families in our community. Eliminating independent Services Facilitators could affect not only these small businesses, but also the families who depend on their knowledge, consistency, and support. I strongly encourage DMAS to consider the impact this change could have and allow families to continue choosing the independent Services Facilitators they know and trust.
