So the 56 hour cap is not unexpected with the federal government cutting Medicaid and other state funding. What happens to this plan if funding is restored to states next year? The 56 hours is particularly going to be an issue in summer when many kids are not in school or adults who are home way more. I think the current service facilitation model is awful. I’m open to a change. It seems wasteful and duplicative to have a private and county casemanager. There are too many people and companies involved. I get conflicting information, wrong information or no information. I struggle to get my annual renewal done because there is no accountability if private service facilitator doesn’t get it done. Can csb not do the private service facilitator job? Csb spends so much time trying to reach or get what they need from my private facilitator. Many of us hardly speak to our private facilitators except to process paperwork at visits. If a broker takes over as service facilitator, I’m hoping that they have clear answers directly from dmas. I’m tired of relying on other parents for updates, answers and changes. As parents, we have whiplash from the Medicaid changes over last 4 years particularly regarding lri. Getting our annual renewal done every year is beyond stressful. Let’s try something new if it helps efficiency , keeps kids in the community and preserves lris and family caregivers. Right now most of us are terrified about the current discussions in news of bringing back expensive and abusive private institutions. Our kids deserve to be at home and part of the community with waivers and it’s more affordable for state. I also am struggling with the new evv requirement and have to set alarms all day on my phone to clock in and out 6 or more times. It’s only a matter of time before I forget or fall asleep and have to correct it in the portal only to get scary letters about the mistakes. We are all so terrified of losing services but everything is confusing, complicated, always changing and always requires more work. I think we’d all like more clarification on the broker model and why the state is choosing it.
