I, Susan Pleskow, support the excellent and thoughtful comments

made by the Arc of Northern VA Lucy Beadnell. The comments clearly show not only an

indepth understanding of the issues and consequences some of these changes might

make, but also the intense exhaustion and overwhelming feelings of the 

families as they try hard to meet their loved one’s needs so that can

be engaged and safe in the community. As a parent of an adult daughter with ID 

and epilepsy, I can tell that we are used to rules, regulations, oversight,

documentation requirements, we have been dealing with it forever  

But please let’s make sure they are rolled out timely and thoughtfully  

Let’s keep front and center why we do what we do - to help our loved ones be safe 

and productive and engaged
