As a parent of a child receiving DD waiver services, I kindly request that DMAS not implement the proposed 56-hour cap. As my son grows older, his care needs are increasing, not decreasing. He continues to need daily assistance, supervision, and support to stay safe. Limiting care hours would make it even harder for families like ours to provide the care our children need. Please continue to approve hours based on each individual’s needs rather than setting a weekly cap.

I also kindly request that DMAS allow families to keep their current Services Facilitators. They understand our children’s needs and have built trusted relationships with our families. Maintaining that continuity of care is very important to us. Thank you for listening to families and considering how these proposed changes could affect our children’s lives.
