Assistants being able to scale your teeth are lawsuits waiting to happen! They don't have the proper training to deliver adequate care to patients. Hygienists go through many years of school and pass board exams in order to be considered competent to scale and take care of patients! There is so much more to hygiene appointments then just scaling! Stop selling out to dental insurance companies!

The only people that will benefit from this are periodontists who in turn will end up receiving more patients that are going to end up with periodontal disease due to improper diagnosis of gum disease. Please please please stop this! So bad for the population!
