I am opposed to an unqualified dental assistant performing the clinical duties that a qualified, certified or registered Dental Hygienist performs.

Having a DA provide clinical duties with little to no knowledge and without extensive training and education is unsafe. The DA will be lacking the crucial skills needed to treat and care for the patients periodontal health and it will be putting the public at risk for untreated dental disease.

The absence of qualified education by an accredited institution and without passing a State NERB Examination is unsafe and unfair to the patients.

Dentists are trying eliminate qualified Dental Hygienists by hiring unskilled DA a lesser wage.
