It would foolish for VMRC to accept this petition. It’s full of baseless assumptions of menhaden stock health and claims of overfishing.  It should be rejected the same as all the other petitions to shut down or limit the Virginia menhaden fishery. The Federal government has determined menhaden stocks are fine, the federal fisheries agencies have determined the Atlantic stock is not over fished and overfishing is not occurring, even the Maryland DNR has stated they seen the highest growth of menhaden since 1990 in recent surveys.  This petition is baseless and should not be accepted.
