I am a small in- home licensed childcare provider and I strongly oppose the requirement for licensed daycares to have an epi pen readily available at all times. The expense alone of having an EpiPen that expires often is an unnecessary expense for business owners. While EpiPens are important to have for kids with allergies, it should be the responsibility of the parents to provide the EpiPen. All childcare facilities are not MAT certified. I am one of those facilities, because I don't feel comfortable with taking on the responsibility of given someone else's kid(s) medication. Requiring EpiPens would not be a good move for childcare facilities.
