I agree with all of the other comments posted about all the reasons this is not a good idea for child day centers. This would cause small centers like mine to go out of business due to financial issues because there is no way we could afford to purchase these epinephrine pens for children. I am fully on board with doing whatever we can to keep children and staff safe and healthy while at our center, but this is not how we do that! We get to choose if we do medication administration in our centers so why should this be forced upon us? If this is something the VDOE wants to pass there should be funds available for all centers to purchase these for all centers. If the state cannot afford to do this why on earth do they think centers like mine can? This makes no sense for any center in my opinion, and I hope all these comments from different centers around the state are read and taken into consideration! We need all the child day centers we have to stay up and running to care for our children in Virginia and if this passes it will be detrimental to child day centers!
