While I understand the concern for a childs safety, I also know that as a parent I am responsible for my childs safety and health. By forcing daycares to provide epinephrine we are putting that responsibility on a business. We are not responsible to go buy antibiotics and give them to children while in our care, so why is this any different? The cost of this medication is also going to be a burdun upon the facility and will have to be passed on meaning the tuition rates will rise making it even harder for the parents to pay their bills. meanwhile for the majority of centers this medication will simply sit in a cabinet and expire so more is required to be bought. I just cant see how this is helping out anyone. The majority of the students dont need this and those that do will have an epi-pen. I dont think this is a very well thought out plan and it needs to be revised and worked on funding to make the state supply it if they want to force it upon us.
