I live in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and I oppose Petition 432. 

As the mother of a transgender woman, I find it reprehensible that this petition, and everyone supporting this petition, is saying my daughter is “a public health threat to the physical and psychological health of cisgender women.” This is a hateful attack on all transgender Virginians who are our friends, families and neighbors. I am proud to support my daughter. She is a loving, kind, responsible and smart person. She is NOT hurting anyone. She does NOT deserve to be treated unfairly and discriminated against. No one does-whether they are transgender people, LGBTQ+ people or not. These political attacks foster hate and bullying. Let’s rise above this nationwide coordinated attack on trans people. For my daughter’s sake, and all transgender women, please do NOT support this petition. Thank you.
