This petition will not make anyone safer. Cisgender women with “masculine” traits or clothes have long been harassed using women’s restrooms and locker rooms, and this will escalate the issue. Trans women, transfemme, and nonbinary people are not a threat to anyone. Nor are trans men who are not mentioned - and their safety in men’s restrooms and locker rooms seems to be ignored.

If the public is concerned about safety in public restrooms and locker rooms, restricting people’s rights based on their gender identity or gender expression does not address the root cause. It is not even a bandaid solution to this presumptive danger.

This is a transphobic petition which will cause further harm to marginalized people. There is no way to enforce this without violating one’s privacy or barring people from accessing facilities based on their appearance. Pretty sure that sort of discrimination has been tried before, and was made illegal.
