This petition is not about locker rooms.  The Board of Health has no business labeling groups of people harmful ("nuisances and hazards") based on who they are.  These political attacks harm us all, whether we’re gay or straight, transgender or not, because they create situations ripe for harassment and physical attacks of people who don't conform to gender stereotypes.  Do you recall a high school student in Utah whose school had to get extra security services because another team's parent accused her of being transgender?  These types of harassment of kids just trying to play sports and be with their friends will only increase when views like those cited in this petition are given air and light.

The State Board of Health's mission is to protect the health and promote the well-being of ALL people in Virginia.  Please do that by rejecting this petition.
