I oppose Petition 432 because results of competition are based on more than exclusively gender.  Even within one gender, size and body types vary widely, and some people are inherently born with biological advantages for a particular sport (e.g., Michael Phelps' wingspan and lactic acid processing, Simon Biles' tiny size).  Plus there are other factors that lead to success in sports including economic advantages (private coaching, travel teams etc), ability to practice and participate - not having to hold a job to contribute to a family's welfare, nutrition, etc.   Privacy issues like locker rooms can also be addressed in way that takes into account needs of the all stakeholders, not just the loudest or majority-identity voices. 

This petition has nothing to do with the health of Virginians and everything to do with discrimination.  This petition does not belong in the State Board of Health.
