I am strongly opposed to the RN license renewal rate increase. Cost of living has increased so much over the last few years and RN salaries have not increased. Nurses can’t afford almost a 100% increase in this rate. As someone who is both a RN and who hires RNs for a hospital unit, I am worried this will drive more nurses away from the field. We lost so many experienced nurses during COVID. I have several nurses still working PRN that are retirement age. They may not renew their license because of this cost increase.
