Surgery should be done by medical doctors!!

Laser to the human eye is SURGERY. Surgery is done by surgeons. In order to do surgery, one attends 4 years of undergrad. 4 years of MEDICAL (not optom) school, and then FOUR MORE YEARS of residency. The residents are taught in person, real time , and by BOARD-certified eye physicians and surgeons. Residents perform FIFTEEN HUNDRED surgeries during their training. An optom simply CANNOT ever ever do a “model eye” laser, and then proceed to laser real human eyes.

this is an anathema. We must each speak the truth, and stand up for patient safety.
