I would like the dwr board to oppose the proposed dog trespass regulations. I believe that people who trespass should be charged, but to charge a person for there dog going across a property line chasing wild game(deer, bear, raccoon, rabbit, etc) is just crazy to me. If you think every hunting dog can be caught before they cross property lines everytime, you haven't hunted with dogs much. Hunting dogs have been bred to and trained to chase wild game wherever it goes. They swim swamps and rivers, go up and down hills, across fields and through tickets. Wherever the wild game goes, the dogs follow. Yes GPS tracking collars help to find/keep up with the hounds better than ever before, but GPS is still not perfect and I have seen dogs be shocked and keep on running too. Please oppose this dog trespass regulation and try to better enforce the current trespass laws and ticket the people who are trespassing, not the dogs & their owners.
Thanks
