Thoughts from lifelong resident of Henry County Virginia

To whom it may concern,

Hello, I see the comment period is almost to an end but I feel compelled to quickly share my thoughts, research results, and my first hand experience here.

I’m a lifelong resident of Henry County, one of the hardest hit communities in Virginia in terms of mismanaged chronic pain issues, opioid dependency, and drug abuse. I have seen what Kratom can do for some people and it truly can help them save their own lives and return to their communities as full, productive citizens. The worst I have seen Kratom do? Nothing. Simply nothing. No harm. For some it just wasn’t the right help or the person wasn’t fully ready to regain their life back.

And for those who have looked at it as a potential high? They’re very disappointed. It’s just not what it’s about. It’s not there.

Interested by what I’ve seen, I’ve done the research and beg you do the same. The science is limited due to funding but it’s there. Do the research. Truly look at the community behind Kratom support. Look at the requests for regulation. Do the right thing and do NOT support scheduling or ban.

Thanks for reading.
