Utilized properly, kratom is no more addictive than coffee

The best way I can describe responsible kratom use is that it has an analgesic effect on pain.  I have used a reasonable amount for seven years and it is quite helpful with chronic pain issues.  As with everything, if abused it can lead to some withdrawal symptoms.  Coffee also has withdrawal symtoms.  Some folks are always going to take substances to an extreme, searching for some type of high.  My use of kratom has never caused intoxication.  If nothing else it suppresses pain and makes me more alert.  Please don't ban this substance.  Due to the lack of effective, non-narcotic alternatives, kratom fills a role helping people with chronic conditions feel better and remain productive members of society.  Banning is an over-reaction that is going to hurt thousands of responsible users who need non-intoxicating pain relief.
