KEEP KRATOM

To the Virginia Board of Pharmacy,

I strongly oppose the petition to classify kratom's active alkaloids, mitragynine and 7-hydroxymytragynine, as Schedule I substances. Kratom has been a lifesaver for countless individuals, providing natural relief from pain, anxiety, and addiction. Criminalizing kratom would unjustly deprive many people of a safe and effective herbal remedy, pushing them towards more dangerous alternatives.

This move would not only harm those who depend on kratom but also set a dangerous precedent by criminalizing a natural substance that has helped so many. Please consider the voices of those who have found hope and healing through kratom. Do not let fear and misinformation dictate this decision. Keep kratom legal and accessible.

Sincerely,

Melissa Carpenter
