Use the Kratom Consumer Protection Act to make Kratom safe

This is extremely important.  Kratom has and will continue to save many from the Opioid crisis (those addicted and also those w/no addiction but needing relief from chronic pain).  I took opioids for 15+ years. Never took more than prescribed. Starting w/Opioid crisis most doctors will not prescribe it and I found it extremely hard to obtain for my chronic pain. Many people had to look to illegal purchase on the street which is very dangerous, and many have died due to this.  Kratom does not meet the definition of a schedule 1 drug.  Many people are using Kratom in a responsible manner to replace Opioids for their pain and many people have used Kratom to save them from their addiction to Opioids.  Please do not take a solution for the Opioid crisis away.  Concerns over children taking Kratom from Gas stations can be taken care of by simply enforcing age restrictions. Any death associated with Kratom has come from ridiculously high alkaloid containing extracts or really due to other drugs but Kratom happen to be listed as 1 of several drugs.  The Kratom Consumer Protection act will cover any and all concerns.  I am able to lead a normal life without severe pain due to Kratom. Without Kratom I will go back to Opioids.
